Champaign Fire Department responds to car fire



CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign Fire Department was able to extinguish a car on fire Friday afternoon.

On Nov. 29 at approximately 12:15 p.m., Champaign FD responded to reports of a car on fire at Belmore Court in Champaign. One fire engine was dispatched to the scene, with three firefighters putting the fire out.

When firefighters arrived, the car was engulfed in flames. The scene was officially cleared at approximately 1:30 p.m., but according to Randy Smith, Champaign Fire public information officer, the fire was put out well before then.

There is no cause of the fire at this time nor any other additional information on the incident.
