PAYSON, Utah (ABC4) — Traffic on northbound I-15 was brought to a stop on Monday night after a plane made an emergency landing on the interstate in Payson, according to officials.
Lt. Cam Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol told ABC4.com that a small plane made a successful emergency landing on I-15. However, a car reportedly crashed into the plane shortly after it landed.
Roden said no injuries were reported from the plane. However, three injured people were taken to the hospital from an involved vehicle, with more injuries possible.
Northbound I-15 lanes near mile marker 250 were expected to be closed for about the next three hours during the investigation, Roden said. All traffic in the northbound direction is being advised to exit at 800 S, according to UDOT.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation’s traffic website, the incident began around 8:20 p.m.
