OPP charge two men trying to re-sell stolen construction heater online

A Marmora and Lake resident and a man from Oshawa are facing charges after they attempted to sell stolen property online.

Last Sunday afternoon, Central Hastings OPP responded to a report of a suspicious ad on an online marketplace.

Officers located the potential sellers and confirmed that the property was stolen. The item they were attempting to sell was an industrial heater that had been taken from a construction site in Madoc in November.

A Marmora man was charged with theft over $5000, carrying a concealed weapon and failure to comply with probation.

A man from Oshawa was charged with theft over $5000 and failing to comply with a probation order.

The Oshawa man was released ‘with conditions’ by the OPP and turned over to the custody of another police service in relation to a separate investigation.
