BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A man is dead after officials believe he was working to repair his car on the side of SR-91, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Officials with UHP told ABC4.com that the man was believed to be outside of his car and attempting repairs when another car sideswiped him near mile marker zero on US 91, right off of I-15.
Emergency services attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other involved vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with officials.
The incident led to three lanes of traffic being blocked on I-15, including the right shoulder. Officials did not provide an estimated clearance time for the blocked lanes.
