Quick police work in Tweed has stolen items returned to owner the same day stolen 


Police in Tweed have recovered over $50,000 in stolen items less than 12-hours after the theft was first discovered. 

Just after 8 a.m. on Thursday, a theft was reported at a construction site on Phillips Road in Tyendinaga Township.

A large, enclosed trailer was taken around 3 a.m. that morning.

Also taken were custom windows, power tools and other equipment.

The stolen property was estimated to be worth “well over $50,000.”

Investigation by the East Region Community Street Crime Unit led officers to a location on Trudeau Lane in Tweed and the stolen trailer and other items.

The stolen property has been returned to its owner and the investigation is continuing to identify those responsible.
