NOW: I-80 closed due to truck fire, lane closures in place

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A semi-truck trailer caught fire on I-80 Monday evening, causing Utah Highway Patrol to issue lane closures.

A semi-truck trailer caught fire at 5600 West on Westbound I-80 Monday night. The trailer was reportedly able to be detached from the cab.

The trailer was hauling wheat, according to Lt. Cameron Roden, UHP. No hazardous materials were on board.

The semi-truck driver reportedly did not sustain any injuries. Lanes should be open in approximately one hour.
