Cold sunshine across the Beehive State for Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Happy Tuesday, Utah! It’s a frigid start to the day with many areas down into the 10s and 20s this morning.

Bottom Line?! Cold sunshine for our Tuesday across the Beehive state.

We’re looking at mostly sunny skies Tuesday with highs only warming into the low to mid-30s across northern valleys and mid to upper 40s across southern Utah.

Wednesday will feature another day with morning lows in the 10s and 20s, daytime highs in the mid to upper 30s across the northern valleys, and near 50 across SW Utah. High pressure will build overhead which will mean the return of the inversion haze along with moderate air quality. Thursday and Friday, temps will warm up to about five to 10 degrees above normal, thanks to a ridge of high pressure moving in.

The ridge breaks down as we head into the weekend and a trough will likely swing through on Friday or Saturday. There’s still some uncertainty about its exact track, but it’ll bring colder air and light snow, mainly in the mountains. Snow in the mountains could add up quickly thanks to high snow ratios, even with limited moisture.

Stay tuned!
