CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Fire crews are on the scene at Marketplace Mall in Champaign for a possible fire Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were dispatched to the mall at 11:38 a.m. after reports of a possible fire.
According to a WCIA reporter on the scene, firefighters are responding to the west side of the building near the food court. At least five fire trucks are on the scene.
A WCIA reporter on the scene also confirmed that officers with the Champaign Police Department are assisting. WCIA has reached out to the Champaign Police Department for more information.
The mall is being evacuated at this time.
