Ontarians getting taxpayer rebates in the mail

The cheque will soon be in the mail.

The province has started issuing 200-dollar taxpayer rebate cheques to everyone in Ontario that is 18 and over – and filed a 2023 tax return by the end of last December.

Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy (bethlen-FALL-vee) says the money is part of the government’s efforts to help Ontario families struggling because of the federal carbon tax, high interest rates and global economic uncertainty.

If your family qualifies for the Canada Child Benefit payment, you’ll also receive a separate cheque for 200-dollars for each eligible child under age 18.
