Tim Cook congratulates Trump and touts ‘continued innovation and jobs’ for the United States – 9to5Mac

Apple CEO Tim Cook was in attendance at President Trump’s inauguration today in Washington, D.C., and has taken to social media to promise “continued innovation and jobs” for the United States.

According to Trump, Apple is planning a “massive investment” in the United States now that he has taken office.

In his post on social media today, Cook said:

Congratulations to President @realDonaldTrump and Vice President @JDVance on Inauguration Day. We look forward to working with the administration to drive continued innovation and jobs for future growth across our great nation.

Cook sat directly behind the podium at Trump’s inauguration today. He was seated next to Google co-founder Sergey Brin, three rows behind President Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Other tech moguls, including Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai, and Jeff Bezos, were in attendance. Perhaps notably, Cook was seated separately from those four big tech billionaires.

Cook donated $1 million to President Trump’s inauguration, as did Meta, Microsoft, Google, and others. Cook’s donation was made personally. Apple as a company did not donate to the fund.

In addition to attending today’s inauguration, Cook took part in the traditional pre-inauguration service at St. John’s Church in Washington, D.C. He also attended the post-inauguration luncheon, where he was seated with Donald Trump Jr. and Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.

During his so-called victory rally in Washington, D.C on Sunday night, Trump said that Cook has promised him that Apple is going to”make a massive investment in the United States because of our big election win.”

Who knows what exactly that investment will entail. During his first term, Trump traveled to Austin, Texas, alongside Cook to visit Apple’s Mac Pro factory.
