Switching jobs – same insurance company

Hello friends,

I tried asking this in the insurance subreddit, with no responses. Hoping that someone here can answer my question.

My current job dental insurance allows for a routine cleaning every 6 months. I’m switching jobs, but the new job utilizes the same insurance company. In theory, would I be able to get my next cleaning immediately with the new job (benefits start day 1) or would I still need to wait 6 months after my most recent cleaning?

Edit: Switching to a new company that are not related to each other and aren’t owned by the same parent company.
