Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Ottawa for strong southwesterly winds on Monday, January 27, 2025.
High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Power outages are possible.
Southwesterly winds gusting up to 70 or 80 km/h will develop this morning and continue into this evening. Winds will gradually decrease through tonight. In addition, a strong cold front will move through the region tonight. This front may be associated with bursts of heavy snow and blowing snow giving significantly reduced visibility along with a sharp temperature drop.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page for updates.
The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.
Please exercise caution when traveling to and commuting on campus.
