Who Does Gwendoline Christie Play on Severance Season 2?

Viewers are curious to know about Gwendoline Christie’s role in the recently released Severance Season 2. She is a renowned English actress, widely known for portraying Brienne of Tarth in HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones. With her arrival in the Apple TV+ series’ third episode, fans are wondering how she will contribute to the existing plot. So, here are the details.

Gwendoline Christie’s role in Severance Season 2 explained

Christie plays Lorne, a mysterious employee, working in the Mammalians Nurturable department at Lumon Industries in Severance Season 2.

After not being invited into the goat room warmly in Season 1, Mark and Helly give a second shot at it in the current season. To their surprise, they are greeted by a new employee, Lorne, who asks them, “Have you come to kill me?.” They politely introduce themselves and inquire about the department. To which, Lorne responds, “Mammals Nurturable,” which may allude to their responsibilities regarding the upbringing and care of the mammals.

Lorne, who appeared untidy, was seen wearing a green badge and was dressed in a blue-and-white attire. When Mark and Helly reveal that they are looking for Casey, a wellness counselor, Lorne reacts angrily and says, “We don’t abide such fripperies here.” Further, she insists them to carry their search somewhere else.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Christie opened up about Lorne, sharing that she hasn’t disclosed full details of her character even to her colleagues and friends, and has tried her best to keep it under wraps. This is due to her admiration for the series’ “mysterious” nature.

Expressing her gratitude for the series, she said, “It was a true great gift to be invited to be a part of the series. It was just such a fulfilling experience as an actor and a creative. This piece of work’s really spoken to me and I really adore it. I’m so hugely grateful to be a part of it.”

The show releases its episodes on Fridays.
