BERKELEY, NJ — Firefighters extinguished an attic fire burning in a Berkeley home Sunday evening, authorities said.
Bayville Volunteer Fire Company #1 was dispatched to the 400 block of Woodhaven Boulevard for a structure fire at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, they said in a social media release.
The assignment was upgraded due to heavy fire reported in the attic, the fire department said.

The bulk of the fire was contained to the attic after engines arrived, the fire department said. No injuries were reported.
The scene was then turned over to the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Firefighters thanked the mutual aid companies assisting on site and those providing coverage assignments.
