That means the streets will be haunted by legions of gobblin’ ghouls on the candy trail as well as more grown-up variations, all out for a bit of October evening entertainment.

With the holiday more popular than ever, the entertainment industry is seriously vested in getting involved to rake in some cash. With about everything from the Vancouver City hell display on Victoria Drive to all other sorts of popular events planned, it only made sense to check out some of this year’s best music video offerings.

Freeze the Fall: VHS | 604 Records

Just referencing VHS tapes in the tune’s title lets you know that this is going to be a ride back into ancient technologies and classic terror motifs. Sure enough, this song is just packed with buzz saw riffs and buzzing saws. Props to Two-Six Films Production for a great bit o’ gore. Kids: Don’t do this at home.

MF Doom: Vomitspit | Rhymesayers Entertainment/Metalface Records

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of MF Doom’s class MM … Food, a new official video of the fan-fave track Vomitspit has dropped. Animated and composed by artist Saber, the lip is far less scary than amusing. Until you realize that the vomit spit actually looks a bit like green hamburger relish.

Sabrina Carpenter: Taste | Island Records

What’s that you say? The only video in this list with a parental advisory is by the singer behind such pop ditties as Espresso? It’s true. This clip with Carpenter and the delightful Jenny Ortega is an extended gorefest married to a bouncy midtempo tune that really becomes far scarier when you dive a bit deeper into the creepy “you’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissing you” verse and others.

Carpenter brings the Short n’ Sweet Tour to the Pacific Coliseum on Nov. 4.
