RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — A Rantoul woman is dead following an early morning car accident on Sunday.
According to Champaign County Coroner Stephen Thuney, 54-year-old Julie A. Wargolet, of Rantoul, died after sustaining injuries in a single vehicle crash.
Thuney said that the preliminary investigation indicates that Wargolet’s car left the road before rolling and stopping in a plowed field south of 1400 East and 2700 North in rural Rantoul.
Wargolet was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 7:21 a.m. on Nov. 3.
The death is under investigation by the Champaign County Coroner’s Office and the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
