The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) is stepping up its support program for solo parents across the province.
Currently, the program benefits over 8,000 solo parents, ensuring that their needs and rights are adequately met.
The PSWDO staff is actively providing technical assistance through orientations on Republic Act 11861, the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act, and offering services such as psychosocial support, stress management, and parenting sessions.
“The amendment to the law for solo parents aims to expand the benefits available to them and their families. At PSWDO, we continue to engage in capacity-building activities organized by the DSWD National Office, which we cascade to our Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs), working alongside various provincial government and non-government partners,” said PSWD Officer Abigail D. Ablaña.
This expanded assistance program underscores the provincial government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare and well-being of solo parents and their children.
