'It means a lot' Paxton-Buckley-Loda hosting second round playoff game

PAXTON, Ill (WCIA) — A road win in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs gave Paxton-Buckley-Loda another chance to play in front of the home fans.

The Panthers 22-20 victory at Monmouth-Roseville snapped a three-game losing streak, as PBL heads into its second round matchup 7-3 on the season.

PBL hosts 9-1 Durand/Pecatonia Saturday at 2:00 pm.

The opportunity to suit up in front of the Panther faithful makes last weeks win even sweeter.

“Made it 100 times better. The emotions were everywhere,” Senior offensive and defensive lienman Alejandro Olivares said. “I was so excited. Everyone knows they’re ready. They’re ready to come down here and us play some football.”

“Means a lot. I haven’t had a home playoff game since I was a freshman, and obviously I didn’t play, so it means a lot that I get one more game here. I helps everyone else too,” Senior offensive/defensive lineman Matthew Suaava said.
