WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — A man was taken to the hospital early Sunday morning after an officer-involved shooting in West Jordan, according to West Jordan Police.
Police received a call regarding a suicidal man with an edged weapon early Sunday morning, Nov. 10. Officers responded to the scene in the area of 7000 South 5600 West.
While police were on scene, the suspect went back into the home where children were present, according to Sgt. Andrew Hercules, West Jordan Police.
At around 1:30 a.m., one officer reportedly fired their weapon, wounding the man. The suspect was taken to the hospital in stable condition after the incident.
The Unified Police Dept. Critical Incident Team is taking over the investigation.
