RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — 30 years after first opening their doors, Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch is on the hunt for new ownership.
According to a post by Alisa DeMarco, a realtor with the Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group, the ranch is home to over 58 acres of farmland including a 10-acre corn maze and draws more 60,000 visitors annually.
While the ranch also houses 23 reindeer now, that wasn’t always the case. Back when Hardy’s first opened in 1994, it was called Hardy’s Evergreen Acres. Eventually, Mark and Julie Hardy, the owners, purchased Mistletoe and Nanook, their first two reindeer.
The ranch did well, and eventually was renamed Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch. In 1997, Mark and Julie purchased 13 more reindeer.
Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch is open five to six days a week between Sept. through Dec. according to the Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group.
A listing posted on Crexi lists the asking price listed $2,240,000.
That money would purchase the 58-acre ranch including the 30-acre farmland, made up of corn and soybeans, a gift shop with specialty Christmas items, the Klondike Cafe, a three-bedroom farmhouse and more.
