I am looking for a career change. I’ve been a performance marketer for 10 years managing Meta, LinkedIn, X, Reddit, and Google Ads.
I am tired of it!
But, I love the research aspect of digital marketing. I can get lost doing competitive research and drafting messaging suitable for each channel that drive brand awareness and conversions.
I can spend a day with no breaks doing conversion rate optimizations looking at heat maps and eye tracking software so I can build better landing pages.
I’ll assist my graphic designer on any Photoshop, Illustrator, or simple Figma work.
I get excited whenever I work with marketing operations and data analysts to recap performance metrics.
And I also love working with BDR’s and AE’s to evaluate lead quality as well as listening in on discovery calls and demos to gain insight on their journey so I can apply it to my ad messaging / creatives.
Product Marketing from my understanding identifies buyer personas, the channels they frequent, and strategizes the messaging at all levels of the conversion journey on the site.
UX from my understanding identifies the behaviors of the buyer persona and strategizes the best experience while a user is on the site.
Both require researching current customers, competitors, and behaviors. Both also require a level of technical understanding.
With all that said, I don’t know which direction to go. I have the skills for both and both jobs pay well.
