A new case of chronic wasting disease in deer has been detected in B.C.
Chronic wasting disease, an incurable disease that affects deer, elk, moose, caribou and reindeer, was detected in the province for the first time this year, raising concerns about the health and survival of the province’s cervid population.
To date, three cases of the disease have been identified in deer populations in the Kootenay region, according to a news release from the B.C. government on Thursday.
