CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — State Police responded to a crash on Interstate 57 Sunday night to discover the driver had fled the scene when they arrived.
The crash happened at 7:40 p.m. near milepost 230, about two miles south of Curtis Road. State Police told WCIA that troopers determined a Dodge Dart was traveling south when it left the highway for unknown reasons and entered the roadside ditch.
The Dart rolled over and landed on its driver’s side. It appeared the driver was able to get out of the car and was gone by the time troopers arrived.
Officials said there is no further information they can release.
