HOOPESTON, Ill. (WCIA) — After more than five years spent at the Hoopeston Animal Rescue Team (HART) shelter, one dog has found his forever home, right in time for the holidays.
HART took to Facebook to celebrate Coolidge’s adoption after 1,888 days spent at the shelter.
Now, Coolidge has a home, a fenced in yard and a family. According to HART, this was a “Christmas miracle.”
The shelter asks that those interested in adoption to consider all of the other long termers who are still waiting for their families. Waiting for years takes a toll on both the animals and those that care for them, according to HART.
