HUNTSVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — Residents of Huntsville still have their water shut off Saturday morning as officials are unable to find a leak that drained the water supply to dangerously low levels.
“Good evening Huntsville residents,” a social media post Friday night from the town of Huntsville states. “Here is an update of our water system. We are still unable to find the leak and the water is shut off. We still don’t know how long this will last but have some contingency plans for the availability of water. Eden Water system is generously providing potable (drinking) water for us.”
Officials said the drinking water, provided by Eden Waterworks Co, is available at the west parking lot of the LDS stake center, located at 6500 East 1900 North, Eden.
“Originally, we planned on having this available by 6 am, but we now plan to have it available Saturday from 8 am to 9 pm. Bring your own water containers to fill,” the post states.
Town officials are asking residents to check on their neighbors — especially those who may have difficulty getting their own water.
“For those, we have bottled water in front of the new town hall,” the update states. “This bottled water will be available [Saturday] at 12 noon, to provide for your neighbors who are unable to fill their own water containers.”
A team of water experts are currently working to find the leak, officials said. For more information, visit the town of Huntsville’s website here or Facebook page here.
This is a developing story. ABC4 will update this post as new information becomes available.
