LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A six-month-long, multi-million-dollar PECO natural gas line installation project may be completed by the end of the year, township officials said.
PECO has completed the new gas main installation on Lindenhurst Road, officials said. Testing has begun with gas-up scheduled followed by nine service installations.
Officials said that work may be finished by the end of the year.
Lindenhurst Road forms the boundary between the township and neighboring Newtown.
During the project, work crews installed nearly 9,000 feet of steel natural gas main along the roadway as part of a project to upgrade its natural gas distribution system for customers in Lower Makefield, Newtown Township, and Bucks County.
PECO said the improvement is part of its investment of approximately $9.3 billion over the next five years across its natural gas and electric systems to complete targeted system enhancements and corrective maintenance, invest in new equipment, inspect equipment and perform necessary tree trimming and other vegetation management.
