Musa deserves to be Sabah governor, says ex-deputy chief minister

Musa Aman has been appointed Sabah’s new governor, succeeding Juhar Mahiruddin, who retires at the end of this month.

PETALING JAYA: A former Sabah deputy chief minister says it is fitting for Musa Aman to be named the state’s governor, citing his vast experience.

Yahya Hussin said Musa, who was Sabah’s longest-serving chief minister, had contributed greatly to the state, especially in areas of economic growth, infrastructure development, social progress, and politics, the Borneo Post reported.

He also called for an end to the attacks on Musa’s appointment.

“Given that certain parties continue to slander and spread baseless accusations against Musa, as well as the state and national leadership, I urge them to immediately stop such action,” he was quoted as saying.

Yahya, who had served under Musa’s administration, said it was “highly inappropriate” to slander and incite the public to hate the national and state leadership, as well as to drag the king into such matters.

On Tuesday, Musa was appointed Sabah’s 11th governor, succeeding Juhar Mahiruddin, whose term will conclude at the end of this month.
