While we have seen laptops with foldable displays in the past few years, we have yet to see any model showcase a rollable display–what more one that’s ready for commercial production? According to EVLeaks, Lenovo will be the first to launch a laptop with a rollable display with the 2025 ThinkBook Plus, and the said laptop is ready for production.
This version of the ThinkBook Plus (Gen 6 to be specific), which is said to debut at CES 2025, is more insane than previous models, which had a secondary e-ink display and a tablet-sized display in the keyboard area. The magic trick of this laptop is that while it has a display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, it rolls upwards to give you more screen estate to work with.
The idea is groundbreaking for a laptop, but we have several questions about it–particularly with how the rollable mechanism works and its durability with the usual wear and tear. We also wonder about its battery life, as having a bigger display translates to higher power consumption.
Being a ThinkBook, we expect the 2025 version (or Gen 6) of the ThinkBook Plus to rock an Intel processor and have an aluminum chassis that has at least two USB-C ports.
