PAXTON, Ill. (WCIA) — A person is going around Ford County and pretending to work as an electric cooperative contractor.
On Dec. 23, Eastern Illini Electric Co-op warned its customers of a new scam. The impersonator is going around saying they are at people’s houses to “disconnect service.”
In their Facebook post, Eastern Illini said they would, “never show up at your door after hours, on weekends or holidays to disconnect power and we never collect money from members at their residence.”
Eastern Illini is encouraging everyone who experiences this suspicious activity to call them at 800-824-5102.
