“Green Bones,” the inspirational prison drama written by Ricky Lee and Angeli Atienza and directed by Zig Dulay, emerged as the big winner at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi Ng Parangal, earning a total of six trophies including the coveted Best Picture plum.
Although it didn’t win the Best Director award for Zig, “Green Bones” garnered the Best Screenplay prize for Ricky and Angeli, as with the Best Cinematography award for Neil Daza.
Dennis Trillo, Ruru Madrid, and Sienna Stevens, also won Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Child performer, respectively, for their performance in the film.
