Illini protect home court with physical Big Ten win

(WCIA) — Illinois women’s basketball has now won 13 straight games at home at the State Farm Center.

The Illini hosted their first Big Ten opponent of the year in the Oregon Ducks. Oregon got out to an early lead, but Illinois came back to make it a competitive game for the rest of regulation, coming out on top with the 64-59 win.

Genesis Bryant led Illinois’s offense with 23 points, with 16 coming from the charity stripe in a near-perfect performance. Gretchen Dolan returned to the lineup after missing several games with an injury, scoring 13 points.

Illinois continues Big Ten play on Tuesday, December 31, against Washington at 12 p.m.
