Maura Higgins ‘worried’ her ex will reveal all about their relationship on Love Island All Stars

Maura Higgins is said to be ‘worried’ that her ex Curtis Pritchard might spill secrets about their past relationship if he joins the upcoming series of Love Island: All-Stars.

The I’m A Celeb star, 34, and professional dancer, 28, first connected on the original series of Love Island back in 2019, where the pair ended up finishing in fourth place.

Despite their initial spark, the romance fizzled out and they parted ways just eight months later amid rumours of infidelity on both sides – allegations they have both denied.

While Maura recently made a splash on TV with her stint in the jungle – where she spoke candidly about dating TOWIE star Pete Wicks – Curtis could soon make his own comeback in the spotlight.

A source told The Sun: ‘Curtis signing for All Stars is more than awkward for Maura just as she’s fallen for Pete and they’ve finally gone public with their love.

‘Her break-up with Curtis wasn’t the best and Maura always worried he’d be the ex that could blab. It’s also less than ideal when she’s hoping to build on her I’m A Celebrity profile and advance her career.

‘Love Island bosses are in the process of confirming the Islanders who will launch January’s show and Curtis might not make that line-up — but he is in the cast of bombshells to land later in the series.’

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Maura for further comment.

ITV announced last week that the start date for the reality dating series is just weeks away and will begin on January 13 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

It comes after Maura discussed her experience on Love Island on Paul C Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast.

Speaking about her ex Curtis, she described him as a ‘why not’ man, explaining she only dated him due to there being limited options in the villa.

She said: ‘When you’re locked in a house, I say locked but you’re in a house and you’re in there for X amount of time. You’re going to start liking people that you wouldn’t normally like.

‘Not to be mean but you are, you’re in there. I’m pretty sure it would probably be the same on Big Brother. You’re locked in a house; you’re not seeing any other men. You’re going to be like ‘why not’.’

When asked about the comments, Curtis told The Sun: ‘I’ve no idea what’s she done. I don’t even know what Podcast you’re on about. I have no idea.’

‘Yeah, we’ve known each other since five years, and never once…” she told Oti.

‘He would always say, “Oh no, like, we are gonna go on a date somewhere.” And I’d be like, “We’re actually not.” And I was deadly serious, “We’re actually not. You’re delusional.”‘

Appearing on This Morning following her elimination from the show she shared her excitement at potentially seeing Pete upon her return to the United Kingdom and admitted he had encouraged her decision to enter the jungle.

She said: ‘Honestly, he’s been so supportive. I didn’t know if he was still in Strictly, I’m so proud of him and he’s proud of me and I can’t wait to see him.’

When asked why she eventually changed her mind, Maura explained: ‘He wouldn’t give up. And then I was like, “Oh fine”.

‘I brought my friends with me, and I was like, “see it’s a friendship date.” And then the next time I went, just me.’

Recounting their first date, she admitted no expense was spared, noting: ‘We went out for oysters and wine. Yeah, come on. It was super nice.’

As for their chemistry, Maura quipped: ‘Yeah, a lot of fun. We just dial up 24/7 with each other. We’ve got the very same humour.’
