Tolono Fire receives record number of service calls in 2024

TOLONO, Ill. (WCIA) — This past year was the busiest on record for the phones at one Champaign County fire department.

The Tolono Fire Protection District received a record 559 calls for service in 2024. The breakdown of these calls was as follows:

• Medical: 353
• Fire: 90
• Rescue: 55
• Public Assist: 60
• EMA: 1
