Caltex, in partnership with William Tan Enterprises, Inc., gave out cash to the tricycle and multicab drivers of Puerto Princesa and Palawan on December 16, according to the amount of points they garnered in 2024 by fueling up in Caltex stations across the province.
The Pasasalamat ng Caltex sa mga TODA at Kooperatiba event, held in Chinatown Mall Palawan this year, was the fourth iteration of gift giving from Caltex to its Palaweño customers. Members and heads of the various Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Associations (TODAs) were given cash per TODA, the money which will be used in turn for their respective projects.
The Caltex Loyalty Club was started by William Tan Enterprises, Inc. (WTEI) as a way to express their gratitude towards longstanding customers who make fuel purchases at their stations scattered all over Palawan.
“This is to help yung mga TODA para sa expenses (…) iinstead of contibuting cash pa para sa projects nila, doon na sa binibigay nating incentive nila kinukuha yung panggastos doon.. Example, sa uniforms nila, instead of kanya kanyang ambag, sa cash incentive na lang nila kukunin,” Caltex management stated.
A total of P 1,012,834.12 were given in cash and split among the Caltex Loyalty Club members during the pasasalamat event.
Five other municipalities outside of the city also had TODA representatives during the event, who also received an additional cash allowance as a transportation fee for traveling to the city to receive their prizes.
Puerto Princesa had the highest number of participating TODAs and earned P 586,639.43 in total.
The rest of the participating municipalities shared the remaining portion. Narra, with 18 total TODAs, both Bataraza and Brookes’ Point had seven participating TODAs each. Roxas and El Nido were the only municipalities from the northern part of Palawan who participated, having six and three TODAs respectively.
In 2023, TODAs reportedly used their earnings to purchase office supplies such as printers, plastic chairs, and uniforms- with some distributing the cash during their TODA’s Christmas party.
The Caltex pasasalamat event will continue next year with participating members of their Caltex Loyalty Club.
