CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Illini football will have a big piece of the secondary returning for the 2025 season, as Xavier Scott has announced he will be back in Champaign for his senior season.
As a junior, Scott came up with four interceptions and one forced fumble, including a game-changing pick-six against Kansas. His three turnovers forced in that game earned him national Player of the Week honors back in September.
The First Team All-Big Ten (Media) selection tallied 49 tackles in 2024, starting in all 13 games.
Scott joins J.C. Davis and Luke Altymer, among other key players, to announce their plans to return for next season.
