SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — If you’ve been eager to be a part of Utah Hockey Club’s inaugural season, but felt a little overwhelmed by the price of tickets, you may have a chance to snag tickets for just $10 apiece.
The Utah Hockey Club has partnered with Smith’s grocery stores and locally owned pest-control company, Moxie, to provide affordable tickets for the remaining 24 regular season home games this season.
Each match will offer up to 2,000 single-goal view tickets that not only include a seat to the game, but a hot dog and a bottle of water as well. These purchased through the program can also not be resold, which UHC said will preserve the focus of providing affordable experiences for fans, families, and students.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Smith’s and Moxie to make Utah Hockey Club games more affordable for families and fans across Utah,” said Chris Barney, the president of revenue and commercial strategy at Smith Entertainment Group. “This initiative allows more people in our community to enjoy the NHL experience at Delta Center as we continue to build on the excitement of our inaugural season and create unforgettable experiences for those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend a game.”
How to get a $10 ticket
The $10 ticket program offers two ways for Utahns to snag a deal.
The first is by shopping at participating Smith’s locations. Shoppers will be given the opportunity to buy two $10 tickets for every $20 spent while shopping, with an $80 limit. So, if you buy $80 worth of groceries, you could snag up to eight of the 2,000 available per-game tickets for $10 each.
To be eligible for the tickets, simply use your Smith’s Rewards Card at checkout and a unique URL and promo code will be printed at the bottom of your receipt. This URL and promo code will allow shoppers to redeem their offer for $10 tickets online.
The second option for $10 tickets is exclusive to currently enrolled university students in the Beehive State. Students with a valid Utah university email address can visit www.nhl.com/utah/tickets/student-section for the opportunity to buy up to two $10 single-goal view tickets for up to three remaining home games this season.
As part of the college ticket program, the Utah Hockey Club will celebrate students with a “College Game Night” on March 20 when the team hosts the Buffalo Sabres. Throughout the night, students attending the game could be selected to take part in in-game activities, giveaways, and a post-game afterparty in one of Delta Center’s premium clubs.
