Illini drop second-straight in home loss to Maryland



CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illini dropped their second straight in Big Ten play in a 91-70 loss to the Terps.

Illinois was without big man Tomislav Ivisic due to illness, making way for Maryland to dominate in the paint, scoring 62 points inside and winning the rebound battle 40-36.

Ivisic’s absence paired with a 6-28 night from three-point range made for the Illini’s first back-to-back loss since the 2022-23 postseason.

Kasparas Jakucionis led the Illini in scoring on the night with 21 points.
