As Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy S25 series, flagship Android phones have better competition–especially with the likes of the OPPO Find X8 impressing us with the line’s return to the Philippines late last year. The Find X8 and Galaxy S25 are among the rare varieties of compact flagship phones that you can buy if you’re not an iOS user.
We compare both 2025 Android flagships in this article to see how they stack up against one another:
Design
Both phones feature a boxy, iPhone-like design with flat frame sides, ultra-thin bezels, and an aluminum frame. The Find X8’s design stands out a bit more with its alert slider and that huge, circular camera bump at the back with those Hasselblad-branded cameras.
Samsung has again played safe with the Galaxy S25’s design, but we’re not complaining–it’s a minimalist look compared to other Android phones. Both phones boast an IP68 rating and stereo speakers, so there’s nothing to complain about regarding flagship characteristics.
Both phones come with stereo speakers and eSIM support–the latter being handy, especially for those who travel often and need to frequently change SIMs.
Display
Both phones boast 120hz flat AMOLED displays, though the Find X8 has a larger 6.59-inch panel with a higher 1.5k resolution and slimmer bezels than the Galaxy S25. The Galaxy S25 has the same 6.2-inch display used by its predecessor, making it one of the most compact flagship phones you can buy in 2025.
Both phones support HDR10+ content and have Widevine L1 for streaming Netflix shows in Full HD. The Find X8 has a higher peak brightness of 4500nits, but the Galaxy S25 does have a respectable 2600nits peak brightness.
Cameras
Considering that the Galaxy S25 uses the same camera setup since the Galaxy S22, it feels dated at this point when compared to the Find X8’s Hasselblad-branded cameras that consist of three 50-megapixel sensors. Both phones are on even ground when it comes to the main camera, but the Find X8 has the lead when it comes to the ultrawide and telephoto cameras.
What’s peculiar, however, is that despite the Find X8 having newer camera hardware, it’s limited to shooting 4K60 videos–the Galaxy S25 can shoot 8K30 videos just like its predecessors.
The same can be said for the selfie shooters, as the Find X8 leads with its higher-resolution 32-megapixel sensor. Resolution aside, both phones can shoot 4K60 selfie videos.
Internals
While the Find X8 is a solid performer with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400, the Galaxy S25 is better on paper and with benchmarks with its use of a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. Both phones come with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage, though Samsung also offers the Galaxy S25 with 512GB storage at a rather steep markup.
Battery
The Find X8 impresses with a beefy 5630mAh Silicon-Carbon battery that’s 1630mAh bigger than what you get on the Galaxy S25. You also get better charging options with the Find X8: 80w SuperVOOC, 55w USB-PD, and 50w wireless–which is way ahead of the Galaxy S25’s 25w wired and 15w wireless charging.
Price
The Find X8 is priced at Php 54,999 for the sole 12GB/256GB model, while the Galaxy S25 is priced at Php 51,990 for the 12GB/256GB model and Php 60,990 for the 12GB/512GB model. While it’s rare to see a Samsung flagship being more affordable, one has to consider all the upgrades the Find X8 has to offer–better cameras, better display, bigger battery, and better charging speeds.
