As the holiday festivities unfold, the Fortnite Winterfest has returned for 2024, bringing you the chance to earn a variety of free rewards. Launched on December 20th, you can start opening one gift each day, continuing into the new year. One of the most exciting rewards is a festive Snoop Dog cosmetic available on December 24th. While these cosmetic items motivate returning players to dive back into the game, don’t overlook the valuable Winterfest questline that enriches the experience.
The success of Fortnite‘s collaborations has led to plenty of enticing rewards in this Winterfest event, particularly those featuring characters and celebrities from outside the game. Among the most unique additions in this year’s holiday update is the Christmas legend, Mariah Carey, who appears in an in-game event alongside a themed cosmetic bundle, just in time for the season. While these paid bundles and cosmetics are fantastic if you’re looking to expand your skins collection without spending more, the Winterfest quests offer significant incentives as well.

Enjoy a Major Boost to Your Battle Pass Progress
Instead of simply waiting until the final day to collect all the rewards from Winterfest boxes, the Wintervestigation questline requires a bit more effort. Rather than just clicking through gift boxes for free skins, you’ll be following a longer series of quests that feature engaging side missions alongside the typical battle royale gameplay. While the experience points from each quest may not seem very impressive at first, completing all 29 missions will net you a rewarding total of 725,000 XP, greatly aiding your level and battle pass progression.

Even if you don’t intend to tackle every mission in the Winterfest questline, completing any objectives you encounter across the map is highly recommended, as the XP gain is a worthwhile benefit with minimal effort required.
No matter if you’ve purchased Fortnite’s battle pass or are enjoying the free version, 750,000 XP can equate to about 10 additional levels on top of your regular XP from gameplay. This helps you earn cosmetic rewards at a faster pace.
After finishing Sgt. Winter’s questline, you can still earn an additional 25,000 XP by completing the daily task from Guff each day, providing even more challenges to take on.
Fortnite Winterfest 2024: End Date & Time
Ample Time to Collect Fortnite’s Free Rewards
Worried about being too busy to participate in Fortnite’s seasonal event? No need to fret. Winterfest will last until January 7, 2025, concluding at 8:00 AM Eastern Time, giving you a solid two weeks to complete the questline and claim your rewards. Most players should find this timeframe sufficient, but teaming up with a friend can make most objectives easier to accomplish.
While the end of Winterfest’s daily gifts and quests may be a bit disappointing, there’s still a wealth of permanent content to enjoy in the new year. Fortnite has also made available two new game modes: the FPS shooter, Ballistic, and a fun, GTA-inspired social simulation called Brick Life, all at no additional cost.
